Upcoming 2026 protected-learning closures

The practice publishes planned closures for Protected Learning Time. As of 21 September 2026, the remaining listed dates are:

Date What patients should do
Thursday 1 October 2026 Plan routine prescriptions and non-urgent requests around the closure. The practice says it reopens at 8:00am the following day.
Thursday 26 November 2026 Use NHS 111 for urgent problems that cannot wait; call 999 for a life-threatening emergency.
Do not rely on normal Thursday opening on these dates. These are planned training closures published by the practice and can affect calls, forms and routine prescription processing.

The appointment system changed: you no longer need to compete at 8am

Beech Tree changed its appointment system on 11 August 2025. The practice says patients no longer need to telephone at 8:00am or 1:30pm simply to try to secure a GP appointment.

1
Open the appointment page from 7:30am on a weekday.
Use the online consultation request for a routine medical problem.
2
Describe the actual problem, not just “need GP”.
The request is assessed by a clinician, so explain symptoms, timing and relevant concerns clearly.
3
If you have more than one problem, say so in the request.
The practice says a clinician normally deals with one problem during a consultation. Flagging multiple issues helps the practice decide what appointment option is appropriate.
4
Expect either telephone or face-to-face care depending on clinical need.
Beech Tree publishes both same-day GP face-to-face appointments and telephone callbacks where clinically appropriate.
5
Routine care can be planned ahead.
The practice says routine appointments can be scheduled up to two weeks in advance following an online consultation.
Urgent appointment requests should not go through routine online triage. The current appointment page tells patients needing urgent help to telephone the practice or attend the surgery instead.

Cannot attend between 8am and 6:30pm?

The practice says pre-bookable enhanced-service appointments are available after 6:30pm Monday to Friday and on Saturdays, subject to availability.

Not necessarily at Beech Tree

Extended-hours appointments can be provided at different local locations. Confirm the address before travelling.

Ask reception

Reception can check whether an evening or Saturday appointment is suitable and currently available.

Saturday enhanced access is not the same as normal Saturday surgery opening. Beech Tree’s normal opening table still lists Saturday as closed.

Repeat prescriptions: 48-hour minimum and no telephone ordering

The practice publishes four main repeat-prescription routes and specifically says telephone requests are not accepted because of the risk of mistakes.

Ordering method Beech Tree instructions
NHS App Select the repeat medicine shown in your NHS account and submit the request electronically.
Email Send a repeat request to prescriptions.btmp@nhs.net.
Reception prescription box Tick the medicines needed on the repeat slip and place it in the prescription box.
Post Send the repeat request with a stamped addressed envelope if return by post is needed; the practice says to allow four days for postal delivery.
Telephone Not accepted for normal repeat-medication requests.
Processing time: the practice says repeat prescriptions are processed within about 48 hours. Build in extra time for weekends, public holidays and planned Protected Learning Time closures.

Medication reviews

Patients on repeat treatment are expected to have an annual medication review with a clinical pharmacist or pharmacy technician. If a medicine no longer appears as a normal repeat item, do not repeatedly submit it—contact the practice because review or clinician approval may be required.

Blood tests and X-ray results: phone after 11am or check online

The practice gives a specific telephone tip that can save time: if you want the result of a blood test or X-ray, call after 11:00am, when the early surgery rush has eased.

NHS App / online record

The practice FAQ says GP-ordered results become available through NHS online services after a clinician has reviewed them.

Telephone

Call 01788 561319 after 11am if you need to ask about an available blood or X-ray result.

No call does not mean “no result”. The practice says normal results are not routinely communicated individually but can be viewed through online access. If a clinician wants an appointment to discuss the result, reception will contact you.

NHS App and practice online services

Beech Tree’s online-services page says patients can use online access for GP appointment functions, repeat prescriptions, medication history and allergy information. The practice FAQ also directs patients towards NHS App login for online healthcare services.

Appointments

Use the practice triage route for clinician-reviewed requests and NHS App functions where enabled.

Repeat medication

Request medicines already set up as repeat treatment without telephoning reception.

Records and results

Available clinician-reviewed results and parts of the GP record can be viewed where the necessary access is enabled.

Online record access involves privacy choices. The practice reminds patients to think carefully before sharing login information or health-record access with family members or carers.

Register with Beech Tree Medical Practice

Beech Tree currently states that it is accepting new patients and provides both an online registration form and GP catchment postcode search.

1
Check the postcode catchment.
Use the practice postcode search before completing registration if you are unsure whether your address is covered.
2
Complete the online registration form accurately.
Include pre-existing medical conditions, carer information and any reasonable adjustments that affect how you access healthcare.
3
List regular medicines and long-term conditions.
The practice says patients taking medication or living with a long-term condition will be offered a new-patient registration medical appointment with the GP assistant.
4
Tell the practice if you prefer a male or female doctor.
Beech Tree says you may state a preference when registering, but some services are provided only by particular clinicians, so another appropriate clinician may sometimes be offered.
NHS registration and secure online-record access are different processes. NHS rules do not make photo ID, proof of address or immigration status universal requirements simply to register with a GP practice, although practices may ask for helpful information to match records.

Clinics that can be booked directly through reception

Beech Tree publishes a unusually detailed clinic timetable. Exact staff availability can change, but the current clinic page lists the following:

Service Current published arrangement
Antenatal clinic Midwife clinic on Tuesday and Thursday; booking route provided through the practice.
Asthma clinic Listed on Monday and Tuesday.
Blood tests HCA / GP assistant appointments on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings.
COPD Published for Monday and Tuesday.
Diabetes clinic Clinic availability listed Monday to Friday.
NHS Health Checks Provided by GP assistant and healthcare assistant for eligible patients.
Minor surgery Includes cryotherapy and joint injections; discuss the problem with a doctor before the procedure is arranged.
Travel clinic Listed with the practice nursing team.
You do not necessarily need a GP appointment first. Nurse, healthcare-assistant, dietician, physiotherapy and clinical-pharmacy appointments can be requested through triage or by calling reception.

Accessibility and reasonable adjustments

Beech Tree’s accessibility statement confirms that reception and consulting rooms have audio induction loops. A British Sign Language interpreter can also be arranged if the practice is contacted before the appointment.

Reasonable Adjustment Flag

The practice provides an online questionnaire so requirements can be recorded in the patient record. Examples include mobility, hearing, visual, learning, autism, ADHD, mental-health, cognitive and communication needs.

Communication preferences

The questionnaire lets patients state whether phone, text, email or an authorised alternative contact works best, and request BSL, another language interpreter, Makaton, easy-read or large-print information.

CQC has also described the health centre as a modern purpose-built building with disabled access and parking.

Parking at Rugby Health and Wellbeing Centre: remember the ANPR cameras

The practice warns that its car park uses automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) cameras.

If you are parking for a surgery appointment, enter your vehicle registration details as instructed. The practice specifically reminds appointment holders to register the vehicle. Patients who do not have an appointment do not normally need to enter car details unless reception tells them to.

This is easy to miss if someone else drives you, you use a temporary vehicle or you are concentrating on getting to an urgent appointment. Check the registration number before leaving the reception area.

Complaints and concerns: contact the practice management team

Beech Tree asks patients with a complaint to contact its practice management team so the issue can be investigated locally.

1
Write down what happened.
Include dates, the service involved, who you spoke to if known and what outcome you are seeking.
2
Email the practice management team.
The current published complaint address is btmp.pm@nhs.net.
3
If you are uncomfortable raising the issue directly, check the local ICB route.
The practice charter identifies NHS Coventry and Warwickshire Integrated Care Board as the local body overseeing GP services.
4
Keep ongoing medical care separate.
Do not wait for the complaint investigation if you still need treatment; use the appropriate GP, NHS 111 or emergency route at the same time.

CQC rating: Good overall, but the inspection is historical

CQC currently displays Beech Tree Medical Practice as Good overall. Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led are all shown as Good.

CQC event Date / result What it means
Overall rating Good The rating currently displayed on the live CQC profile.
Follow-up inspection 5 December 2018 CQC followed up an earlier Safe rating of Requires Improvement and found sufficient improvement for Safe to become Good.
Report published 8 January 2019 Publication date of the latest inspection summary displayed by CQC.
Later data review 6 July 2023 CQC said the information available did not indicate a need to inspect or reassess the rating at that stage.
Do not describe this as a 2026 inspection. The rating is currently displayed by CQC, but the inspection and later review dates should remain visible so patients understand the age of the underlying assessment.
