Appointments: Accurx, NHS App, phone or reception
Abbey House now uses the same clinical-routing approach whether the patient starts online, phones or attends reception. This is more useful than repeatedly trying different channels for the same request.
Call 999 if life is at risk. Use NHS 111 if urgent and the practice is closed or you are unsure which urgent-care service is appropriate.
The practice publishes online routine access from 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday.
Call 01327 877770, option 1, from 8am to 6:30pm, or speak to reception from 8am to 6pm.
The information is used to choose the most suitable GP, nurse or other healthcare professional.
The practice may offer face-to-face care, telephone consultation, video, text or email depending on the request.

| Selected Saturdays | Daytime appointments between 9:00am and 5:00pm on selected Saturdays each month. |

Home visits are for patients genuinely unable to travel
Abbey House’s emergency guidance says home visits are only for patients who are genuinely unfit to travel. The surgery can often assess the problem more effectively on site, where examination equipment and the wider team are available.
A clinician may first decide whether telephone advice, practice attendance, a community service, NHS 111 or a home visit is the safest route. For a life-threatening emergency, call 999 rather than waiting for a GP visit.
Repeat prescriptions: no telephone ordering
| Method | Current Abbey House guidance |
|---|---|
| NHS App | Order authorised repeat medicines through your NHS account. |
| SystmOnline / online services | Patients registered for online access can order regular repeat medicines electronically. |
| Collection box | Paper repeat requests can be placed in the collection box at either surgery. |
| Telephone | Not accepted for repeat prescription requests. |
| Electronic Prescription Service | Approved prescriptions can be sent to your nominated pharmacy. |
If you have a prescription question rather than an order, the contact page asks patients to phone where possible between 10am and 2pm.
For general help preparing repeat-medicine requests and checking your nominated pharmacy, use the Medication Practices guide.
