The Right Channel for Every Question

medicalpracticeuk.org/ is an editorial directory. We cannot give medical advice, register you with a GP, book an appointment, or access any record. This page explains exactly what we can help with, what we cannot, and where to send each kind of question.

🆘 Medical emergency? Do not email us — you need help now.

Life-threatening emergency: call 999.

Urgent but not life-threatening: call NHS 111 or use 111 online at 111.nhs.uk.

Mental health crisis: call Samaritans on 116 123 (free, 24/7), or NHS 111 and select the mental health option.

Suspected poisoning or overdose: call 999 or NHS 111.

What We Can Help With

  • Corrections to any practice address, phone number, opening times, CQC rating, online-service link, or guide detail on the site
  • Reports of dead links or changed practice websites — top-priority correction queue
  • Reports of phone numbers that no longer connect
  • Notification of practice mergers, branch closures, or relocations
  • Data-protection rights requests under UK GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, etc.)
  • Cookie preferences and consent queries
  • Accessibility issues and reports of barriers using assistive technology
  • Copyright / takedown notices relating to our content
  • Press queries about the site, methodology, or editorial decisions
  • General feedback about a guide

What We Cannot Help With

  • Medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment — contact your GP practice or NHS 111
  • Registering you with a GP — apply to the practice directly (we explain how)
  • Booking, cancelling, or changing appointments — your practice or the NHS App
  • Prescriptions or repeat prescriptions — the NHS App or your practice
  • Test results or referrals — your practice
  • Access to your medical record — the NHS App or your practice
  • Complaints about NHS care — your practice first, then Healthwatch or the PHSO
  • Paid placement or sponsored practice listings — we do not accept these
