The Terms That Govern Your Use of medicalpracticeuk.org/
These terms explain what you can do with the site, what you cannot, the disclaimers and warranties that apply, the limit on our liability, and the law that governs. By using the site, you agree to them. Your statutory rights — including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the NHS Constitution — are unaffected.
1. Editorial directory only. Not the NHS, not the CQC, not a GP practice.
2. No medical advice. For symptoms use NHS 111 or your GP; in an emergency call 999.
3. Not for registration, booking or prescriptions. Use your practice or the NHS App.
4. Verify with the practice or NHS before relying. Details change frequently.
5. England and Wales law applies.
6. £100 liability cap, except for liability that cannot be excluded by law (including death or personal injury caused by negligence).
7. Your statutory and NHS Constitution rights are preserved.

4. No Medical Advice
The content is general information about finding and using GP practices and medical practices. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. For any symptom or health concern, contact your GP practice or NHS 111; in an emergency call 999. Do not delay or disregard professional medical advice because of anything on this site.
5. Your Statutory and NHS Constitution Rights
Your rights under the NHS Constitution — including to access NHS services and to register with a GP — and your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 for any service you pay for, remain in full. Where you use a GP practice or other provider, your relationship is with that provider and the NHS, not with us. For free help, contact Healthwatch, Citizens Advice, or (for unresolved NHS complaints in England) the PHSO.
6. Intellectual Property
The original editorial content of medicalpracticeuk.org/ — directory entries, guides, comparison tables, step-by-step procedures, and design — is protected by copyright under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988. Subject to fair dealing and the permitted-use clause above, all rights reserved.
We refer to the names of the NHS, regulators, and clinical bodies (NHS, CQC, GMC, NMC, GPhC, NICE, MHRA, Healthwatch, PHSO) and to practice names nominatively — to identify the body or practice our guide covers — which is honest referential use under the Trade Marks Act 1994. We do not use the NHS logo or any NHS identity element, and our use does not imply endorsement or affiliation.
7. User Submissions
If you send us a correction, comment, or suggestion, you grant us a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to use, reproduce, modify, and incorporate the submission into the site for editorial purposes. We will not publish your name or contact details without permission. Please do not send any health information or special-category personal data.
8. Third-Party Content and Links
The site links extensively to the NHS website, individual practices, the CQC, the GMC, NICE, Healthwatch, the PHSO, and the ICO. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, availability, accuracy, or privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement.
9. Disclaimers
The site is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied warranties. We do not warrant that practice details — addresses, phone numbers, opening times, CQC ratings, or online-service links — are current at any specific moment; details change frequently, and the practice’s own page and the NHS website are the authoritative current references. Nothing in this clause affects your statutory rights or our duty not to mislead.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, medicalpracticeuk.org/ and its operators, editors, and contributors are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the site or your reliance on any content. Our total liability to any user for any matter is limited to £100.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded under the laws of England and Wales. Your statutory rights are unaffected.
11. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify medicalpracticeuk.org/ against any claim, loss, or expense arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the site, including any unauthorised commercial scraping, any misrepresentation as the NHS or a practice, or any harassment of practice staff.
12. Termination
These Terms are effective until terminated. We may suspend or withdraw access at any time. Clauses that by their nature should survive — IP, disclaimers, liability cap, indemnity, governing law — survive termination.
13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and any non-contractual obligations are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may bring proceedings in your local courts, and mandatory consumer-protection provisions of your jurisdiction continue to apply.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms. The “Last reviewed” date at the top reflects the current version. Material changes are flagged on the site for 30 days. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
